2018 YAC SISTERS LEADERSHIP FORUM
Yesterday, Saturday 27th October 2018, at the Joint Provincial YAC (Young Anglican Crusaders) Sisters Forum Leadership Training held at Christ Church, Ugbene, Abakpa Nike in Enugu East, where Barr. (Mrs.) Joy Ogbonnaya, the International President of the Pleasant Gathering was the Guest Speaker, it was another special time with the girls.
Coming from different Provinces and dioceses such as Ebonyi State, Nsukka, Onitsha, etc, the girl were highly elated to be under the tutelage of Barr. Joy. With the theme, “DANGERS OF THE COMFORT ZONE”, and starting from Amos 6:1 which says “Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!(KJV), she stated that the ‘comfort zone means for one who identifies himself or herself as a Christian to behave as one who’s an unbeliever, negligent of their identity and responsibility, etc.
It was another eye-opening moment filled with great lessons as Barr. Joy went deep and wide in explaining and discussing the constituents of such dangers which include among others that:
1. It brings woe to a person.
2. It brings one to a place of absolute compromise.
3. It brings one to a place of dwarfism and hypocritical Christianity.
4. It demoralizes and incapacitates one.
5. It makes one a ‘fireless’ Christian.
The ministration of the Word and the prayers set the tone for the presence of the Holy Ghost which swept through the whole building leaving the young ladies groaning in the spirit; craving for more of God’s touch to become ablaze for Him.
